United States Army – Los Angeles, California

  • Established and maintained contacts - Contacted, interviewed, and advised civilian personnel to obtain qualified applicants for enlistment into the Army. Contacted representatives of schools, public officials, personnel managers, parents of prospective applicants, religious and civil leaders, and others to present the Army as an employment and career opportunity. Presented formal and informal talks on advantages of the Army at civic and service organizations and student bodies.

§         Advertised - Distributed and displayed recruiting publicity material. Established liaison with local radio, television, and newspaper agencies. Wrote, edited, or presented recruiting material for use by local communications agencies. Loaned and exhibited motion pictures for civic, fraternal, and service organizations and educational institutions.

  • Conducted Interviews - Interviewed and counseled prospective enlistees. Transportation Manager / Batallion Movement NCO

  • Responsible for the career development and progression of 5 soldiers. 
  • The position supports the rapid deployment of the 3rd Infantry Division and the 3rd Sustainment Brigade; responsible for tasking 240 pieces of transportation equipment, monitoring rail, truck air and ship movements during deployments for the Battalion. 
  • Handling the inspecting of the unit movement program, supervised the building of unit's Deployment Equipment List. 
  • Supervised four deployment operations and was also responsible for the health and welfare of NCOs and the maintenance of all equipment. 

 

Accomplishments included:

  • Developed a Battalion Movement Plan which received a 100% commendable rating during Marne inspection program
  • Supervised the packing, loading, securing and tracking of all the Battalion's sensitive items for deployment
  • Ensured that all Battalion redeployment containers were accounted for and delivered to all appropriate units
  • Recognized for possessing strong leadership abilities; graduated ANCOC Honor Graduate of Class 005-06
  • Supervised the early retrograde for over 700 pieces of Battalion equipment for redeployment without loss
  • Planned, coordinated and supervised the movement of over 400 pieces of Battalion equipment during the Division's motorpool facility reset

  • The position supports the rapid deployment of the 3rd Infantry Division (MAIN) and the Division Support Brigade; responsible for tasking 240 pieces of transportation equipment, monitoring rail, truck air and ship movements during deployments for the Battalion.
  •  Handling the inspecting of the unit movement program, supervised the building of unit's Deployment Equipment List. 
  • Supervised four deployment operations and was also responsible for the health and welfare of NCOs and the maintenance of M998.  
  • Appointed duties included:  Battalion Movement NCO, Planning Coordinator, Airload Planner, Transportation Coordination and Automated Command & Control Information System Coordinator

 

Accomplishments included:

  • Processed over 1000 Transportation Movement Requests and assigned trucks, ensuring that assets were maximized during Operation Iraqi Freedom III

  • Provided logistical support to Divisional and non-Divisional units of the 3rd Infantry Division (MECH) and XVIII Airborne Corps.
  • Responsible for the health, welfare, morale and discipline of NCOs and a team of 22 soldiers; totaling 32 soldiers
  • Responsible for the accountability and maintenance of 48 pieces of military weaponry valued in excess of $4.8M
  • Additional duties included being the equal opportunity NCO, risk reduction NCO and safety officer
  • Supervised, coordinated and completed over 250 combat missions with outstanding results
  • Orchestrated and led missions allowing his platoon to accumulate over 400K miles during hazardous conditions
  • Through his leadership groomed 2 squad leaders and 6 soldiers for selection to support another unit to secure and occupy a hostile location
  • Inspired and motivated NCOs to spearhead and complete renovation of 2 schools totaling over $40K
  • Maintained exceptional accountability of all assigned equipment worth over $4.2M
  • Devised a successful system for accountability of soldiers and equipment during combat operations
